Health and Skills Development Training Support to Kawra and Under privilege Community in Aronghata

Background & Rationale:
In the project area, various existing and ongoing initiatives related to skills development and employment will be taken into consideration. During project planning, consultation has been conducted with the relevant communities and stakeholders to understand how the project can contribute to achieving its objectives.

Nice Foundation has been working for a long time to improve the quality of life of people in the community, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups such as women, children, adolescents, elderly people, persons with disabilities, and extremely poor individuals. The Foundation works with people living in poverty and marginalized communities to support their participation in development activities through skills development, education, employment, entrepreneurship development, and other initiatives. It works closely with people living in poverty and those who remain outside the mainstream of society, treating poverty reduction as a process of change. The Foundation has been implementing skills-development and training programs, particularly in response to the growing demand for skilled workers in the changing labor market. Through these initiatives, disadvantaged young people are being trained in various trades, including modern technology, advanced techniques, and practical skills.

Overall Objective:
The overall objective is to provide opportunities for people who want to acquire skills but cannot afford the cost of skills training. The project aims to provide disadvantaged people with opportunities to acquire competitive skills and increase their earning capacity through employment-oriented training. The project will provide training in computer and sewing, with the specific objective of improving the quality of life of women and men, particularly young people, through skills development.

During the preparation of the project, meetings, discussions, field visits, and various consultations were conducted with beneficiaries to understand their problems. Their problems were discussed with the District Social Services Officer, and necessary assistance was sought. Their problems were also discussed with the relevant local government representatives and members of the community to understand their needs. For project implementation, the organization contacted Project Bangladesh, USA, and received assistance amounting to US$58,122 (approximately BDT 6,866,800) for the period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025.

Contribution of the Nice Foundation and Gratitude to Beneficiaries

Poverty is the greatest enemy of the country. Due to poverty and helplessness, people are unable to meet their basic needs. As a result, they are deprived of education, health care, sanitation, safe drinking water, and other basic services. Women are often the most affected in these situations. They are deprived of their rights, suffer violence and exploitation, and are forced to live in hardship.

The Nice Foundation works to improve the lives of these disadvantaged people, especially women and children. The foundation is playing a vital role in building a poverty-free and self-reliant society through various development programs. This is truly a commendable initiative.

People in remote areas often cannot access the benefits of development due to a lack of education, awareness, and resources. The Nice Foundation conducts various awareness programs, training, and capacity-building activities in these areas. I have personally participated in a 12-day training organized by the foundation on women’s rights and legal awareness. I have gained a lot of knowledge from this training. I have learned about women’s rights, legal aid, family violence, child marriage, dowry, human trafficking, and many other important issues. The training has made me more aware and more confident in speaking up for my rights.

Through this training, I have learned how to protect my rights and the rights of other women. I can now better understand various social problems in my area and can stand beside helpless women. I have also learned about legal aid services and how to seek help if needed. I will share this knowledge with other women in my community so that they can also become aware of their rights. I believe that aware and empowered women can build a strong and developed society. I want to play a role in building such a society.

I express my sincere gratitude to the foundation for taking such an important initiative in our remote area. The training has expanded my knowledge and changed my outlo
